I love this photo for so many reasons.
1. Would you look at my pup sitting next to me? He is so loving, and SO loyal to me. I love him more than I ever imagined I could love an animal. This sums up our relationship in one little moment. 2. The lighting is bright and cheerful, and gives me all the happy vibes. Which brings me to the next reason... 3. This shot truly illustrates how I’ve been feeling lately. I sit on our bed or couch every morning, looking out into downtown Seattle, still shocked that we live here. You know, the past two and a half years haven’t been the easiest. There have been so many amazing moments, but it’s really not easy moving so far away from home (and moving again), trying to adult, and navigating life as a newlywed. However, within the last six months or so, I’ve truly started feeling like myself again.... bright, cheerful, happy, and just thankful. I am thankful for Seattle. Ohhh... & 4. That braid though.... thanks to my B @brennabeever 🧡

do you ever have days where you have absolutely nothing to do until later that evening... so you play around in your bathroom, maybe do a face mask and paint your nails, play with your hair and makeup... then you start trying on clothes because there’s so many precious little items hanging in there you’ve never touched... and then before you know it, you’re ready for a night out at 3pm?? Oh, and you’re probably still not wearing any of those new clothes that you “don’t have”, but instead, repeating that same black tee you love so much. Girls, we’re cray. But love us anyway!

I absolutely did not want to go to class this morning. I went out last night with some of my girlfriends and had a little too much wine, had late night dessert because postmates... and went to bed way too late. Changed up my office vibes today by visiting the cutest little coffee shop in pioneer square. It’s amazing what mixing it up can do for your creativity and motivation! I am getting ready to launch a social media coaching course for our real estate agents at @remaxintegrityor, and this was just the little push I needed to wrap up some final to-do’s! A very productive Monday, I’d say!

Can I tell y’all something? I genuinely HATE how my face looks when I laugh.... For years and years, I’ve been so insecure about my teeth and I hate the way my nose wrinkles up. I look like a hyena (google that shit now). I actually cover my face when I laugh in person because I am so weird about it. And why can’t I take one of those cute laughing photos like the ones I see all over Instagram?! I wanted to like this picture so badly when it was taken this summer. I let my insecurities get the best of me. But, I realized, in this moment, I was so happy. Goofing around with family, swimming in the pond, and eating popsicles like it was 2003.... it was a good time. This photo shouldn’t be a reminder of how much a hate my teeth or wrinkled nose, it should be a reminder of that moment.
I guess I don’t really have a point to this narrative. I’m just allowing myself to be vulnerable and to work through my own insecurities, like I know many of us are! At the end of the day, the perfect photo doesn’t matter. The perfect hair, the perfect teeth, the perfect body... none of it matters. But perfect moments do 🧡 and we should all really try to love ourselves a little more.
